ENGLANDS PRIDEWartime And Big Band Hits - Show With Authentic 40's Style Clothing England's Pride was formed to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of World War II and to pay tribute to all those people who lost their lives and to the many thousands who were left devastated by this terrible war. Many hours of research and hard work have gone into the preparation for this show so as to make it as authentic as possible. Jed and Pollie perform for two one hour spots in front of a fabulous hand painted backdrop which has been painted for them by a very talented local artist. The scene depicts London and St. Paul's Cathedral during the blitz. Also on stage will be other props including flags and hand made sandbags.
GORDON BENNETTGordon Bennett is a talented all round Cockney style entertainer and had the 'showbiz bug' from an early age, first performing in a junior school concert. He began working in pubs and clubs before he was old enough to drink in them, and over the years has worked in many different acts and spheres of the business, making the Gordon Bennett of today a polished all rounder. Music and entertainment are in Gordon's family with his Grandfather being an accomplished violinist and his Grandmother playing piano for the silent movies at a Tottenham picture palace and performing at The Hackney Empire. His Dad was born a Cockney with a tremendous sense of humour!
HIM 'N' ERTracy Lea and Russ Pinder are well known accomplished performers in their own right and have been entertaining professionally for many years. Due to public demand for cockney duos it was logical to combine their talents and create a full cockney style show that would embrace the best of a wealth of patriotic and traditional singalong songs, together with banter, comedy and rhyming slang so typical of the London scene. Experience has shown them that songs from others eras, such as the sixties and seventies - and indeed the nineties- are not out of place on cockney nights and so they broaden out the repertoire if the occasion permits.
